How to play
You see a photo of an aircraft. Name it as exactly as you can. The closer you get, the more you score.
A round
- Look at the photo. Tap it, or the corner button, to see it full screen and zoom in.
- Start typing in the box. Names, ICAO codes like B738 and nicknames like “Jumbo” all work.
- Pick a suggestion and lock in before the timer runs out. If time runs out, whatever you picked is sent. Stuck? “I don’t know” moves on with 0 points.
Scoring
Every aircraft sits in a family tree: maker, family, series and type. You score for the deepest level you got right.
| You got right | Example for a Boeing 737-800 | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Exact type | Boeing 737-800 | 1,000 |
| Series | Another 737 NG, like the 737-700 | 700 |
| Family | Another 737, like the 737 MAX 8 | 450 |
| Maker | Another Boeing, like the 757 | 150 |
Speed counts too. The round’s points start shrinking from the first second, steadily down to 50% when the clock runs out. An exact Boeing 737-800 named 6 seconds into a 60-second Daily round scores 950; at 30 seconds it scores 750. Hard mode has its own zoom bonus instead, and Lookalikes is not scaled.
In Endless and packs you can ask for a hint that shows the maker. That round then scores at most 600, and naming only the maker scores nothing.
The Daily
5 photos, the same for everyone, 60 seconds each, up to 5,000 points. A new Daily starts at midnight UTC. Pick a level: Easy has only famous airliners, Normal mixes every type, Hard is for spotters. Each level is its own puzzle with its own leaderboard, and Pro plays all three every day (free play is one level a day). Finish any of them every day to build a streak. Ties on the leaderboard go to the faster player.
Other modes
Free and paid
The Daily is free for everyone, no account needed. Anyone can join a friend's duel with a code. A free account adds 3 Endless rounds a day and lets you join leagues. Pro unlocks unlimited play and every other mode: Time attack, Lookalikes, Livery, Airport, Hard mode and packs.

Every photo is freely licensed, mostly from Wikimedia Commons, and credited to its photographer. The full credit and a link to the original appear after each round. Something wrong with a photo? Tap the flag during the round, or “Report photo” after it, and we'll fix it.
